In our horticulture in Karlslunde we work dedicated to providing the perfect products enriched with taste and carried by the good story. Our fresh ecological herbs and lettuce is the sheer pleasure for both cook and guest.

THE STORY OF LEGRO

The first shooting of the young plant

Legro is a family-business that goes all the way back to March 1958 when Tove and Erling Høgholt plant the first young shooting of a plant in a completely bare field. At that time the small horticulture was only four acres of land and a 400 square meters greenhouse without heating. Tove and Erling grew radishes, berries, cabbage, grape cucumbers, salads, tomatoes and leaks. The company has grown and developed a lot since then and in 1988 it was decided to only cultivate fresh herbs and lettuce in flowerpots.

The family-business gets bigger

Today the sons Lars and Niels has joined the company and sons and dad has divided the job of leading the company between them.The horticulture now counts 30.000 square meters and Legro is celebrating the diversity with a stab of 65 employees from different nationalities.
