The world is full of exciting and delicious kitchens that may inspire us when cooking at home. And every kitchen has its own preferred herbs and flavours that characterises the taste of this exact area.

The Italian kitchen
Italian food has been popular all over the world for many years. It is characterised by all the fresh, powerful herbs you know and love, such as oregano, basil, rosemary and parsley. A fresh pasta, a good olive oil and fresh herbs is always a good starting point for simple, tasty Italian cuisine.

The Spanish kitchen
The Spanish kitchen is known for spicy food using olive oil, garlic and pepper (and cayenne pepper). Herbs such as rosemary and oregano are popular in particular, while also soft herbs like basil and parsley are used in Spanish omelettes and paellas.

The French kitchen
The French kitchen is known for its classic herb combinations bouquet garni, fines herbs and herbes de provence. Even though these are typically used in their dried form, the French are also fond of fresh herbs, specially herbs like bay leaves, chives and tarragon.

The Mexican kitchen

The Asian kitchen
Asia covers many different countries and kitchens, and while there are indeed great differences between Chinese and Indian cuisine, for instance, there are also similarities. In general, the Asian kitchens favour cilantro, lemongrass and mint, while also ingredients such as coconut, paprika, cinnamon and ginger are popular.
